Another post that is a bit late, mostly due to our move, Covid and forgetfulness.
June 5 - 10, 2018
We did a quick weekend trip to Edinburgh so we wouldn't have to be home while it was being shown to potential buyers. As it turned out the house sold fast but we still went. Edinburgh is an amazing city and I wouldn't mind going back one day.
We had rented a one bedroom apartment right on the Royal Mile. Our view was of the St. Giles Cathedral. On the first day we did a stroll around the area to get our bearings.

Next day we went to see the Castle. They say to go early to avoid the crowds. There were still a lot of people in there, just can't imagine what it would be like later in the day. After that we walked to the National Museum of Scotland.

Next day it was a trip down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Castle and Arthur's Seat. You are not allowed to take pictures inside the castle, but outside was ok. On the way back there were lots of street performers on the Royal Mile.

Next day we met one of my husbands friends and his wife who live not too far away. They came to Edinburgh for lunch with us and to see the Botanical Gardens. After saying bye to them we went to do more exploring.
