Most people went on a long, all day bike ride to Rotterdam to Kinderdijk and back to Delft. I had been in Kinderdijk couple of years ago so I didn't want to go there. It is worth seeing if you do happen to be in the area. I wanted to see Delft instead. The "kids" stayed in Delft with me, they didn't want to do such a long ride. Instead we explored this lovely little town. Another one I wouldn't mind going back to. My main interest was the
Vermeer House. They do not have any original paintings, but explain really well all about paints and techniques they used way back then.

We also went to see the
New Church or Nieuwe Kerk on the Market Square. On the other end of the square is the Town Hall or Stadhuis.

From there it was a short walk past an Old Fish Market and Old Meat House to the
Old Church or Oude Kerk.

After exploring the churches and the gardens at the Stedelijk Museum Het Prinsenhof we headed back towards the Market Square to find a place for lunch. We had absolutely delicious sandwiches at
De Sjees sitting outside behind the Town Hall.

Delft seems to be full of pottery stores. You just have to be careful that they are actually made in Delft and not in China or some other place. The whole town seems to be also dotted with pieces of pottery everywhere. And of course cheese shops.

It took extra long for the rest of the cyclists to get back since some of them missed an appointed time and missed a ferry back from Kinderdijk to Rotterdam. Eventually they all made it back and we had a bit later dinner. Tonight's dinner was Moroccan.
