Welcome to my blog!

This is blog is about me dabbling with a little bit of everything, and not being particularly good at anything. And about the places I've been either on vacation or SAG:ing my husbands bicycle trips.

Day 13 - Brugge to Paris - Sunday - July 14, 2013

After a lovely and huge breakfast at the hotel, Martin’s Brugge, we started slowly walking towards the train station. We stopped at a couple of the stores since we still needed to get one more thing. We arrived at the station, got our suitcase from the locker and found our platform. Rita and Tom were on the same train, but in a different car. It was only about an hour to Brussels and since we had 1st class tickets the seating was quite nice.

In Brussels we met Tom and Rita again and decided to go and have a drink together. They had almost a 5 hour wait and we had about 2 ½ hour. We found an outdoor cafe just outside the station and had a beer and a lovely chat with them before we had to go back and find our next train. The train to Paris from Brussels was a Thaylus train and it went really fast. It must have been going at least 100 miles an hour. It felt like we were flying on the ground. It took only 1 ½ hours before we were at Gare du Nord.

From the train station we took the subway to Cadet station and soon found our hotel. It had been a long day and since neither one of us was too hungry we just went to the one local store that was open (it is Bastille Day after all, the French independence day) and got some small things to eat. Our hotel room is a small studio apartment with a kitchenette which was nice since they supply dishes too.
